Senegal, which also known as the Land of Teranga, is home to Lake Retba “Pink Lake”, The Artiste Village home to one of the best shopping experiences in Africa, some of the best cuisine on the planet, Goree Island, beautiful beaches, and much more. Teranga in Wolof means hospitality, so come and enjoy the hospitality that Senegal has to offer.
Depart from JFK airport in New York City on Royal Air Maroc to Casablanca, Morocco. Layover in Casablanca. From Casablanca depart to Dakar, Senegal. Arrive to Senegal. Transfer from Blaise Diagne International Airport to Hotel Lagon 2 in Dakar.
We will visit the African Renaissance Monument. This 49 m tall bronze statue located in Dakar is the tallest statue in Africa. Afterwards we will visit The Artiste Village one of the best shopping gems in Africa and explore Sea Plaza.
Today, we will visit the community and Island of Ngor which is known for their beautiful beaches and delicious food. We will also explore the Almadies community, which is known for its shopping, food and nightlife.
We will visit Goree Island. Gorée is a tiny, car-free island off the coast of Dakar, in Senegal. It’s known for its role in the 15th- to 19th-century Atlantic slave trade. On the narrow streets, colonial buildings include the House of Slaves, now a museum. The 19th-century Fort d’Estrées houses the IFAN Historical Museum, with exhibits on Senegal’s past. The Henriette Bathily Women’s Museum considers the role of women in West African society.
Today, we will explore Plateau which is the business center of Dakar. We will go fabric shopping, visit Cap-Vert which is the closest point to America in Africa, and tour the museum of black civilizations which celebrates the black civilizations contributions across the world.
We will head to Pink Lake, Lake Retba. It’s a natural wonder and is listed among the world’s 10 most amazing lakes. We will also ride the quad bikes along the sand dunes in the area and explore.
* People who are on the St. Louis Jazz Festival Tour, after our Pink Lake activities we will head to St. Louis for the Jazz Festival and check into Siki Hotel.
We will head to Touba. Touba is the holy city of the Mouride sect of Islam and home of the burial sites of the Mouride sect’s founder, Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, and the Baye Fall’s community’s founder, Cheikh Ibrahima Fall. We will visit the Grand Mosque of Touba and learn more about the history of the Mouride and Baye Fall movements.

We will now travel to Saly, Senegal. Saly is known for its beautiful beaches, restaurants, bars and resorts. Saly is considered the French Riviera of Senegal.

You’ll have free time to tie up any loose ends i.e., shopping before its time to head to the airport.
